Summer is winding down, there’s no doubt about it, but that doesn’t mean you should be sitting on your couch watching TV. Sudbury offers so many outdoor activities and locations to explore there’s no excuse to spend the fall watching the boob tube. Why not jump in your vehicle and enjoy the Sudbury area? Here are a few ideas on how to enjoy the great outdoors this fall:
Late summer/early fall is a beautiful time of year in the Sudbury area, and there’s no better place to experience local wildlife and scenery than the Fielding Bird Sanctuary. Located about 20 minutes from downtown Sudbury, jumping in your ride with the family and spending a couple of hours at the Sanctuary is a great way to spend a crisp fall day.
You don’t have to go far to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Located just 40 km North of Sudbury are the Onaping High Falls. These falls are a “must see” for anyone passing through the Sudbury area. It's the ideal location for a romantic hike with your significant other, and at this time of year the area will be less busy, so you can have an uninterrupted romantic outing.
“Onaping High Falls provides not only majestic views of one of the tallest cataracts in the province of Ontario but also the last good resting area on the three-hour drive from Sudbury to Timmins.” - It’s About Travelling.com
It’s no secret that Manitoulin Island is a favourite getaway for the people of Northern Ontario, so why not take one of the last nice weekends and head to the island for an end-of-summer adventure? Bring your friends or the whole family (if you need a vehicle with more room, we can help), and hit the road. Less than three hours from Sudbury, Manitoulin Island is the perfect escape from the daily grind.
These are just a few ideas for some fall fun, but Sudbury and the surrounding area is full of fun things to do all year. We hope you make the most of the fall season, and if you need a high-quality, affordable vehicle to make that happen - we can help.
